Lab

For the last 15+ years, a significant part of my career has been dedicated to authoring technical solutions for various employers. Many of my innovative "side quests" have evolved into valuable assets used in day-to-day operations. It has brought me immense satisfaction to see something I've authored come to life, whether it lives a finite life or withers away from disuse. My happiness comes from the process of making: the journey of building anything in an attempt to breathe life into it. The final outcome doesn't matter, because regardless of the end result, when it ends, it is the end.

The period between an end and a new start feels like a "darkness" where I am lost. Yet, this time of rediscovery presents an opportunity for growth, and perhaps a change in direction: pivoting toward new horizons or delving into the past to uncover forgotten ideas and abandoned pursuits.

This isn't isolated to my work as a software engineer. I have lived many lives as a whole, or so it feels. Perhaps each role I have played in my life feels like a separate lifetime, and the transitions from one to another are the periods of unknown, filled with ambiguity, sadness, but at the same time resolve and excitement. The dichotomy during such periods is often painful, as they offer a mirror for self-reflection, a judgment that is solely my own.

The following items are products of this persistent tinkering. While their final outcomes varied, their backstories are all part of the journey I may share when I get a chance.
